A Coalition for the Arts and for Us All

The Canadian Arts Coalition is launching a call for potential members today.

If your organization would like to participate in mobilizing defenders of the arts, so that arts and culture can be fully recognized for their contribution to society, please be aware that:

Any national arts service organization, or equivalent, that represents a significant number of individuals interested in the arts, culture or heritage, that agrees to be involved in and promote the Coalition’s work, and that supports at least one of the two measures proposed by the Coalition, is welcome to be part of our group.

To become a member right away, please complete the electronic registration form.

Upon submission of your electronic registration form and receipt of your dues, your organization will become a formal member of the Coalition. The membership fees have been set at a minimum contribution of $100, and members may choose to increase their contributions in order to further support the Coalition’s work. Formal members will be able to take part in elections for the national advisory committee which will begin by the end of December, and participate in the Coalition’s work.

Membership dues may be submitted by cheque to the following address. Please make your cheque payable to Magazines Canada and indicating on the cheque that payment is for membership in the Coalition.

All contributions will be used to establish the communication mechanisms necessary for consultations with the arts and culture community and to set up a fund that will be used for mobilizing the community during the next election campaign.

To keep up with the Coalition’s latest news and participate in the ongoing dialogue that it will promote, join the Coalition’s Facebook group.

Even though membership in the Coalition is reserved for dues-paying member organizations, we will soon be putting the call out to all arts stakeholders in the country through our networks of colleagues, members, audiences, volunteers and supporters.

Participation in this Coalition is open to everyone. Get involved in the movement!
