The Canadian Arts Coalition congratulates the Federal Government for their extension of the Canadian Emergency Wage Subsidy program until December 2020, confirmed on July 13th. This announcement aligns with the CAC position that the CEWS program is an essential support to the arts sector, which must continue to be refined and expanded in order for more arts organizations to meet the eligibility requirements. The CAC encourages the Federal government to continue to listen to the needs of the sector, and to remain adept at amending program guidelines to ensure key contributors to the cultural economy are able to access support as the impacts of COVID-19 continue to limit industry growth.
